El Mx3 combina comandament a distància, teclat QWERTY i funció air mouse en un sol dispositiu, facilitant la navegació i l’escriptura en smart TV o PC sense necessitat de superfícies planes. A diferència dels controls tradicionals, el seu sensor giroscòpic permet moure el punter movent el comandament a l’aire. Davant dels teclats Bluetooth, utilitza RF 2.4 GHz, cosa que generalment implica menys latència i no requereix emparellament manual, tot i que necessita un port USB lliure per al receptor.

El Mx3 està fabricat en plàstic ABS resistent i components electrònics interns. Les seves dimensions són 170 mm x 50 mm x 20 mm. El pes estimat sense piles és d’aproximadament 100 g. La caixa conté: el comandament Mx3 Air Mouse, un receptor USB RF 2.4 GHz, manual d’usuari i una targeta de reparació. No s’hi inclouen les dues piles AAA necessàries.

Funciona amb sistemes Windows (XP, Vista, 7) i Android des de la versió 2.2 en endavant. Requereix un port USB estàndard (1.1 o 2.0) per al receptor sense fil. No té compatibilitat oficial amb sistemes MacOS o iOS i pot presentar limitacions en dispositius sense ports USB tipus A.

Es recomana netejar regularment tant l’exterior com el teclat amb un drap sec i evitar l’exposició a líquids o caigudes. Canviar les piles AAA quan es noti poca resposta. Les fallades freqüents reportades inclouen desconnexió intermitent (normalment per bateria baixa o interferències de RF) i desgast de tecles amb ús intensiu. Mantenir actualitzat el firmware del dispositiu amfitrió pot millorar la compatibilitat.

No és habitual la venda de recanvis específics, tot i que el receptor USB es pot adquirir per separat al mercat.
