La bateria SY4-6 ve precàrregada de fàbrica i es pot utilitzar directament. Per maximitzar la seva vida útil, és recomanable fer servir un carregador específic per a plom-àcid AGM a 6 V, limitant el corrent a 1,2 A (0,3C). S’aconsella evitar descàrregues profundes reiterades i recarregar la bateria dins de les 24 hores posteriors a una descàrrega. Emmagatzemeu-la sempre entre 10 °C i 25 °C.

Aquesta bateria AGM és lliure de manteniment i segellada, però s’ha de mantenir allunyada de fonts de calor superiors a 50 °C i no s’ha d’obrir ni perforar. Compleix amb normatives internacionals com IEC 60896-21/22 i està dissenyada per minimitzar el risc de fuites. Utilitzeu sempre protecció contra polaritat inversa durant la instal·lació.

Davant d’una bateria de liti equivalent, la SY4-6 ofereix un cost inicial més baix i més robustesa davant càrregues de flotació, però té menor densitat energètica, més pes i una vida útil menor (normalment 200-300 cicles vs. 500-1000 cicles en liti). Requereix espai i pes extra en aplicacions mòbils, però és preferida en sistemes estacionaris o on el cost és crític.
