El sensor DS18B20 ofereix una precisió típica de ±0,5°C en el rang de -10°C a +85°C. Fora d’aquest rang, la tolerància pot augmentar gradualment fins a aproximadament ±2°C als extrems (-55°C o +125°C).

El cable i la càpsula del sensor estan dissenyats com a resistents a l’aigua, apropiats per a ús en ambients humits i exteriors, tot i que es recomana verificar el segellat de les connexions elèctriques per evitar filtracions en instal·lacions prolongades a l’aire lliure.
